Overview
An Oral and Dental Health Technologist is a healthcare technologist who assists a dentist’s all sorts of clinical works in dental polyclinics as a Clinical Dental Assistant. They prepare the working environment for dentists, welcome, and serve the patients and the dentist during the treatment.
The Programme aims to educate prospective professionals who are preferred in the public and private sector, well-respected, highly-qualified, modern, have knowledge of dental care on an international level, and meet the need of our country for semi-skilled employees.

Learning Outcomes
- Oral and Dental Health Programme aims to educate prospective technical employees with high qualifications who will assist dentists during their clinical works, and carry out the laboratory works. Public and private hospitals are in considerable need of Oral and Dental Health Technologists. To this end, our main aim is to educate students who will apply the professional and ethical rules, meet the needs of our country for semi-skilled employees who attach importance on ethical and moral values.
Career Opportunities
- Graduates of Oral and Dental Health Programme are awarded the title ‘‘Dental Health Technologists’’. Graduates of the Programme can work in oral and dental health centres, public hospitals, university hospitals, teaching and research hospitals, private hospitals, dental prosthetics laboratories, or private clinics. They can apply for a position of Health Technologist with their KPSS scores (Public Personnel Selection Examination). Graduates of Oral and Dental Health Programme can be regarded as fortunate in that many personnel are hired in the category of KPSS associate degree.
- Graduates of the Programme can work in dental laboratories and clinics, dental health departments of hospitals, public hospitals, and firms providing technical equipment for dental health. They can transfer to the Department of Health Administration, and Health Management, if they take and pass the Vertical Transfer (Transfer from a Two-Year College to a 4-Year One) Examination (DGS) administered by the Centre for Assessment, Selection, and Placement (ÖSYM).
