Associate in Operating Room Services
Working in the field of surgery, one of the most prominent treatment methods in the healthcare industry, surgical technologists are allied health professionals who can use all the surgical tools and equipment, prepare the operating room for the surgery, and work as part of the surgical team. This Programme aims to produce graduates who are interested in and successful at natural sciences, especially biology, nimble-fingered and dexterous, careful, fastidious, cautious, and brave and are not afraid of blood, who have a well-developed hand-eye and ear-hand-foot coordination, as well as a sense of responsibility, who can make quick and right decisions, understand and implement the surgeon’s instructions quickly, stand for a long time thanks to lack of any physical disability, adapt to flexible working hours, and work under stress.

Learning Outcomes
- The aim of this Programme is to educate prospective semi-skilled professionals with the international-level surgical knowledge who are sought after by both the public and private sectors, respected, qualified, and modern
- Operating Room Technologists: Know the operating room preparation techniques of all the surgical fields. Prepare the operating rooms. Install the equipment to be used for surgery. Take the specific surgical materials before the patient is brought to the operating room. Open all the necessary materials and equipment kits once the patient is taken to the operating room. Help the surgeon put the patient in the specific position required by the relevant surgical operation. Help others prepare the sterile area. Connect the devices and equipment to be used in this area, and In doing all the above, start the surgery.
Career Opportunities
- Graduates of the Programme is awarded an associate degree diploma and the title “Health Technologist (Operating Room Services)”. Graduates, however, do not have the option to work independently, they can only work in operating room units of the public and private hospitals.
- Graduates of the associate degree programme of Operating Room Services can take the Vertical Transfer Examination (DGS) conducted by the Centre for Assessment, Selection and Placement (ÖSYM) to transfer to the undergraduate programmes Emergency Aid and Disaster Management, Nursing, and Nursing and Health Services.
