Bachelor in Mathematics
The Department of Mathematics aims at educating students who are adorned with academic and modern knowledge on technology, who perceive continuous development as a way of life, who can think creatively and critically, who are prone to teamwork and who have acquired ethical responsibility and business ethics. Moreover; its purpose is to raise individuals who have the skills to define, model and produce a solution method and make decision-making skills in the fields related to science and engineering.
Mathematics Department curriculum consists of theoretical and applied mathematics courses, as well as courses that provide students with the basic knowledge and skills required for the computer field. Our students prepare and present a graduation project that will be carried out under the supervision of faculty members, where they can convey all their knowledge and achievements.
Our program provides a strong base which will make our students reach the latest developments in science and prepares them to become a part of the cooperation between industry and university. It also creates a ground on which our students follow constantly developing technologies and enables them to do scientific research, which is demanded in the field of engineering.

Learning Outcomes
- To educate students who have basic mathematical knowledge and analytical thinking skills. To gain the ability to solve the encountered problems in various fields and real life by mathematical modelling and using mathematical methods. To gain the ability to use computer programs and information and communication technologies effectively. To gain awareness of the necessity of lifelong learning and compliance with professional and ethical principles in business. To educate students who can renew the theoretical and applied knowledge they’ve gained related to the current conditions, conduct research and development in mathematics or fields related to mathematics independently, and have teamwork skills. To educate students who are capable of reading, discussing, writing and orally presenting mathematical thoughts in order to both continue their academic careers and to explain and share their mathematical thoughts. - Mathematics Department graduates may have a career in many fields. They may work as: Researchers in institutions and centres affiliated with public or private sectors, Mathematicians, accountants, bank employees, insurance agents, Mathematics teachers or administrators in educational institutions on the condition that they take pedagogical formation, Operational researchers, data analysts, computer programmers, software developers, system analysts, industrial designers, economists, financial analysts, or investment specialists if they take Master’s Degree in the related departments such as Statistics, Engineering, or Economics., and Faculty members if they continue their education in Master’s Degree and PhD Programmes in Mathematics.
