Bachelor in Interior Architecture
The main objective of the Department of Interior Architecture is to educate modern interior architects who are equipped with necessary knowledge and skills and who can plan and design innovative and viable interior spaces. The Department was created around studio/project works based on interior architecture and the courses which are related to art, architecture, construction technologies and environmental control disciplines were included.
In the first year of the Department, theoretical and practical courses which lay the foundation of the education are given. Design Studio courses start in the second year and continue till the end of the Programme. Besides, it is aimed at equipping students with the necessary knowledge of artistic and technical sides of Interior Architecture with all the theoretical and practical courses. The content of the Design Studio courses, which are carried out in a computer-aided way, develops in parallel with the knowledge accumulated through the education. The courses Architectural Presentation Techniques, Construction Technology and Materials, Cost Planning in Interior Architecture, Physical Environment Control, Building Research and Documentation, Restoration, Furniture Design and Professional Practice in which computer aided drawing techniques are taught are the fundamental and specialized courses of the Department.
Equipping students with one foreign language and a wide perspective, the Department of Interior Architecture prepares its students for being a capable of working successfully in Turkey and abroad.

Learning Outcomes
- Students are expected to improve their designing competence and personal skills of criticizing, thinking, making artistic and formal research, conforming with mutual working with different disciplines in the design of private or public environment from which groups or individuals benefit with different purposes. Examining the functionality of all open and closed environments with their sizes and fittings, students are expected to plan human factors within the scope of physiological, ergonomic, psychological and socio-economic criteria; organize scientific, artistic and technical theories within architectural integrity of interior architecture. They are expected to unify structure, size, function, individuals and society with scientific, artistic and technical content of the theories such as form, colour, material, technique, timing and economy inside of the pot of knowledge, skill and designing ability. Students who are exposed to theoretical explanations and experimental and practical applications such as vision, perception, thinking, examining, inspection, generating ideas, application forms, researching, comparison methods and analysis-synthesis methods develop their designing skills.
Career Opportunities
- After graduation, our students who are candidates to be Interior Architects; May continue pursuing career in academia, in graduate school. May start their own designing office/firm. May work in offices during the designing process and in construction sites during the building process of the interior architecture projects carried out by private and public sector. May work in the furniture industry; specializing in many different fields from designing, production and site specific application to marketing and branding processes. May work as a part of the firms, offering site specific design solutions, such as kitchen design, bathroom design, etc. May specialize on the construction materials sector; and may work in the design, production, application, sales and marketing segments of the main brands of the sector.
