Overview
Surgery, chemotherapy, and radiotherapy are used in the treatment of cancer which is one of the most prominent health problems today. Radiotherapy is a method where radiation is used to eliminate the tumour in patients with cancer. Radiotherapy technologists are the health professionals who administers the radiotherapy in the patients in accordance with the diagnosis of the radiation oncologists and the treatment plan drawn up by the radiation oncologists and medical physicists. The Radiotherapy Programme aims to educate competent and responsible prospective technical professionals who administer and facilitate radiotherapy and are able to use the devices which ensure treatment success.

Learning Outcomes
- The aim of this Programme is to educate qualified prospective allied health professionals who can help radiation oncologists and medical physicists, work in radiation oncology centres, run checks and controls on machinery and equipment, use masks and patient positioning moulds, use lead block, prepare patients for therapy and simulation, and perform the radiotherapy and simulation.
Career Opportunities
- They can work in inpatient/outpatient public and teaching hospitals reporting to the Turkish Ministry of Health, and in Radiation Oncology Centres of various hospitals affiliated to universities or other institutions. Turkish national graduates passing the Vertical Transfer Examination (DGS) can transfer to undergraduate degree programmes of Nursing, and Nursing and Health Services.
