Associate in Dental Prosthetics Technology
A Dental Prosthetics Technician is a healthcare technician who carries out or ensures that the relevant personnel carry out the laboratory work on the removable and fixed dentures (dental prosthetics) which are applied by the dentist to the maxillary, mandibular or facial area according to the planned way of treatment in order to ensure the functions of missing teeth.
A dental prosthetics technician prepares a dental model in the size of a mouth measured by the dentist. They form the fixed and removable dentures, multiply the dentures through casting procedures, level off, and polish them to ensure an aesthetic look and the dentures are made suitably for the mouth. They fix the denture fractures. They also prepare removable orthodontic appliances planned to be used by the dentist during treatment.

Learning Outcomes
- The Programme in Dental Prosthetics Technology aims to educate prospective competent, and qualified dental prosthetics technologists who are sensitive to people which make up our society, and ethical values, able to contribute to our country, work as dental prosthetics technologists in public or private institutions in the health sector, prepare models according to the measurements taken by a dentist to assist them, shape the fixed and removable dentures on the models they prepared, multiply the dentures through casting procedures, level off, and polish them to ensure an aesthetic look and the dentures are made suitably for the mouth, fix the denture fractures, prepare removable orthodontic appliances planned to be used by the dentist during treatment, and carry out the relevant laboratory works.
Career Opportunities
- Students who complete the Programme are awarded the title ‘‘Dental Prosthetics Technologist’’. Dental Prosthetics Technologists can work in public institutions such as public, dental, and university hospitals, or in private dental prosthetics laboratories. If they wish, they can open their dental laboratories. Besides, they are entitled to pursue an undergraduate education in Health Administration, Health Institutions Management, Health Institutions Administration, and Health Management through the Vertical Transfer Examination.
