Associate in Architectural Restoration
Within the Architectural Restoration Programme, which offers a theoretical and applied education, students receive education about the Concepts of Preservation, Principles of Restoration and Conservation, Characteristics of Wood and Masonry Materials, Building Technology and Construction, Basic Rules of Technical Drawing, Computer Aided Technical Drawing, Traditional Building Types, Concepts of Traditional Building Elements, Load Bearing and Non-Load Bearing Structural Building Elements and Components, and their Functions, Materials, and Morphological Properties, carrying out surveys of Traditional Buildings and Building Materials, making analysis of Traditional Buildings and Building Materials, determination of their current situation and drawing their restoration and restitution projects, Basics of Traditional Handicrafts, listing the historical artefacts on the inventory, utilising photography in surveying, and relevant theories and skills which will be required while working in restoration laboratories.
Our graduates can pursue an undergraduate degree in Architecture, Interior Architecture, Old Tiles Repair Work, Traditional Turkish Arts and Crafts Education, and Traditional Turkish Arts and Crafts through Vertical Transfer (Transfer from a Two-Year College to a 4-Year One) Examination (DGS).

Learning Outcomes
- The Programme aims to educate prospective employees who can carry out inventory procedures of the examples of monuments and civil architecture, and building surveys, prepare suggestions for restitution and restoration/reconstruction projects, and participate in all these projects. Students who complete their associate degree studies successfully can pursue an undergraduate degree if they take and pass the Vertical Transfer (Transfer from a Two-Year College to a 4-Year One) Examination (DGS), and have been placed by the Centre for Assessment, Selection and Placement (ÖSYM).
Career Opportunities
- Graduates of Architectural Restoration Programme can work at: Institutions of cultural and tourism assets, Directorate of Building Surveying and Ancient Monuments, Museums, palaces, and private institutions. In addition, candidates who pass the Vertical Transfer (transfer from a Two-Year College to a 4-Year One) Examination(DGS) can study at Beykent University’s Departments of Architecture and Interior Architecture.
